Dog Park Friends

Penny met this pair last time we were at the dog park, so they had
already gotten introductions aside and went directly to play mode.

Homework

We got an extensive write up/assessment from the dog trainer yesterday. FIVE pages of homework and exercises! We worked on some more "leave it" last night. And Penny left her treat like there was a plague on it!

Interesting though, the trainer categorized her breed as an Italian greyhound mix. That's two votes now from trusted professionals (the trainer and the vet) that Penny is an Italian greyhound mix.

With those legs, perhaps she is. I think a doggie DNA test is in order!!

Hello from Hippo and Stinky

Watching the Tour and Jenny (aka Hippo) and Lucy (the very old
ficalfiliac) at the in-law's. Jenny LOVES her toy! She *never* had
any toys before!

Changes

I was bored of the old layout. It felt bland. So now we have dots!

KONG: Suduko for dogs

Penny is now eating treats and food out of her new KONG(a suggestion from our dog trainer to keep her occupied and thinking). I fill it with her dry food, a little peanut butter and maybe a few training treats. She LOVES it.

Kong purchased at Bernal Beast on Cortland Avenue. This is the Puppy Kong Activity Ball by the way.

Learning to leave it

First day with a trainer--seems like Penny either was already trained, or she's a quick learner! That's a pile of treats in front of her--and she's "leaving it" so well. Good Penny!

Penny's quite good at catching food. Good eye-mouth coordination. So, I was trying to get a photo of Penny catching popcorn. Couldn't do it. Darn iPhone! Needs a faster shutter speed! P.S. My grandma makes us batches of popcorn every weekend. It's SO good!

Body pillow

Penny's been sleeping on her own in the living room lately. It's really changed her "alpha" attitude. She begins obedience training this weekend. Hopefully we'll have a well-mannered dog soon!
