I really love Penny's ID tag. We got it at Black Nose Trading on Divisadero. You can pick the size, the background color and the design. So we picked "small" with a flower on a red background. The other side can be engraved with whatever you like. We got Penny's name and our phone number engraved, because we know that if anyone ever found our dog she'd be such a pain in the butt that they'd want to give her back as soon as possible.

Worst Posture Ever

Oh and P.S. she caught a field mouse yesterday in our backyard. Bill washed her mouth out with soap.

Penny popcorn paws

I took this picture a few weeks back and sent it to my sister while she was traveling for work. We love Penny's paws. And this may be gross, but we think they smell like popcorn!

Fingers Crossed

Penny has been reabsorbed into the small group day care. "Small group" consists of her and 2 other dogs. Let's hope this works out...

Mean Little Bitch

She looks cute, but she has "fear agression issues". It was a "bad day" at day care, Penny beat up a 17 year old POMERANIAN. A Pomeranian senior citizen! The muppet of the dog world, the living embodiment of CUTE. And we're lucky a dog that old didn't have a coranary when she attacked.

We found out the other night that my mom hates Penny. Ok, maybe not "hate", but dislikes.

My sister got this mini duck at George's, in the Fillmore, for Penny last Christmas. She's obsessed. She has 3 other stuffed duck toys.

P.S. Apparently Penny may have a new boyfriend. We've been told by the dog walker that she's been kissing her dog Butter! We're waiting for the photographic evidence....

Penny at Velo Rouge

We stopped by Velo Rouge for a bite to eat after Penny's visit to the vet on Arguello Street. Velo Rouge serves Blue Bottle Coffee. Bill really likes Blue Bottle. I say 'meh'! It's alright. I think Blue Bottle espresso drinks are the way to go, not their drip coffee. Yes, I'm a hater!

Chill-axin' under the table in the shade. She was a bit under the weather that day after her vaccinations. :(

Another hot day in the City

Too bad we're at work and Penny's at home instead of at the beach! Some cute/old photos of her at Fort Funston when we were hit with some unseasonably warm weather(aka global warming/climate change) in early spring.

She really enjoyed herself that day! :D

P.S. Blue harness is the Gentle Leader. Size small. Purchased a Bernal Beast. Great for a dog that pulls!

Lonely girl

Penny was glad when we came home the other night.

She's kinda needy, don't you think?

P.S. that oily spot on her back is due to her flea treatment. All natural purchased at Whole Foods! It's comprised of a bunch of oils, like cinnamon oil, clove oil, etc. Stank up the whole house, but we'll all be flea-free!

Much to her dismay, nice sunny days in San Francisco mean bath time for Penny.

Squeaky clean! And smells much better too!

P.S. Doggie shampoo used was Buddy Wash purchased at Trader Joe's.

You can blame me. There was a red plaid coat at Target that exactly matched B's red plaid house coat. How could I resist?

A very important job of Penny's is to alert us when a cat strolls by.
She's far too good at her job!

Anal glands

Apparently when your dog does this you're supposed to have their anal glands expressed:
We've tried "expressing" her glands. Nothing comes out. She doesn't have any sores or anything in that "region". She's been to the vet. She's alright. She just likes doing it, I think. She'll do it at the beach, on our couch, on the rug, on the cement, on our bed...Wait, what?!?

Pooped!

Because we work all day and because we don't have a child, we've decided to be crazy and enroll Penny in doggie day care. This week was her first week. And as our wonderfully kind and patient doggie day-caretaker(sounds a bit morbid?)/walker/trainer Nicole said: "There were some successes and some failures." I think she's just trying to be nice. I just hope Penny doesn't get expelled.

Yesterday Penny apparently fared much better in daycare, e.g. she got along better with the other kids, came when she was called, etc. She went for 2 one-hour long walks and Nicole guaranteed that Penny would be tired. Yup, she was right. The proof is in the pudding... or the photo:
